We had no plans to do anything special on New Year's Eve this year. It was going to be like a normal night at our house -- put the boys in bed and then Chris and I would play games or watch a movie till we went to bed. I mean, isn't that what parents with young kids do on New Year's Eve?!?!
However....we were instead invited at the last minute to go over to a family's house that we know from church. After eating a yummy, snack-food dinner, the adults played Uno Attack while the kids all played games and Legos together. That is such a fun game, we had a blast. Chris and I didn't figure we'd get to stay long because the boys would be tired and fussy for bed. However, we were there till after 11 and the boys were still going strong. Once they sat down in the car, it hit them how tired they were, but you wouldn't have guessed for how well they were playing up to that point.
We were hoping they would sleep in later this morning since they went to bed 3-4 hours later than normal, but unfortunately, they got up about their normal time. (What makes kids do that?) So....they are kind of fussy and tired today, but oh well! Having a fun night with adults is worth the little whining I have to put up with today!!
