Family time banking

We are so sad to leave our kids for the next 14 days. It's going to be hard on all of us. We have never left them longer than about 24 hours, so I'm a little worried how it's going to go. I know they are in good hands, but no one does it quite like Chris and I, so that part is hard to envision and prepare them fo. I know that kids are resilient and they will do just fine, it's me I'm more worried about! haha I think once we get there and have Kailin with us it will be a little easier, but I know we will all be ready to be back home together by the end.

We've been trying to do as much family time stuff (on the cheap) that we can for the past few weeks, knowing we will be missing the family time while we're gone.

We went bowling over spring break with a groupon I found. It was a lot of fun! The kids are pretty good! Better than me at least.

For Preston's wrestling banquet, we got to go swimming at the rec center, which was really fun to do as a family. Chris and I even got an extra leg workout in as we had races around the lazy rizer (against the current!)

Chris worked so hard to plan something special to celebrate my birthday before we left for China knowing that since we fly home on my birthday, by the time we actually arrive in Denver and get home, we are going to be exhausted and not up for much celebrating. He is so sweet, I love how he surprises me with stuff like that! He made my favorite cake ever from scratch and we went out to lunch with a gift card we had! We also watched a movie as a family and just enjoyed the day! He got me new clothes that I'm excited to wear in China too!

We challenged the kids that if they could complete one Race to Read sheet over spring break, we would celebrate with the free coupons they would receive before we went to China. So, we got to go play mini golf and go to Casa Bonita as a family for just the cost of Chris, Ashten and I! We surprised the kids by picking them up from school early on Wednesday. Then we went out to eat and then to play putt-putt.

Leaving them is going to be one of the hardest things I've ever done, but going to get Kailin will make it all worth it! I can't wait to all be together as a family again!
