After reading this post on MckMama's blog, I was inspired to write my own "why I love being a mom of boys" post.
I too, was wishing and hoping for a girl when we got pregnant with Brayden. I grew up with 3 sisters and knew nothing of little boys. They seemed very foreign to me, little balls of energy that are always dirty and not usually very cute. Fortunately, God knew I needed a change of heart about little boys, so he gave me three of them. I am so grateful that He did. Boys are, in fact, little balls of energy and they are, in fact, almost always dirty, but they also are, in fact, VERY cute. I have enjoyed being a mother of boys more than I could have ever imagined. Sure, there are things that I don't get to experience, but I don't feel like I'm missing out at all. I love all the cars, dinosaurs, balls, Bob the Builder, Thomas and Diego toys that litter our floors. I love their creativity and different way of looking at things. I love my three sons!!!!
Also fortunately, God knew that I still would love to have a little girl (although after three boys, I had decided that if I had all boys that would be just totally fine with me). I am so excited to have a little girl. I am glad that she will have three older brothers who will help protect her and look after her. I am a little sad for her that she won't have any sisters, but who knows, maybe brothers are just as fun? I wouldn't know, but neither will our daughter know what it's like to have sisters.
I am glad God knows what I need as a mother. If it were up to me, my family would have probably looked a lot different, but I definitely would've been missing out on some very special things without any sons. I wouldn't be the mom or woman I am today without the blessings of my boys!
