Celebrating Logan and Ashten

March is the only month where we have 2 birthdays in one month in our family, so it is a busy, but fun, month of celebrating our second and fourth kids!!

Since Logan and Ashten's birthdays are just 10 days apart, it is easier to just do one family party instead of trying to find 2 dates and times that work for everyone. Plus, it's a lot easier to host just one party!  They had a lot of fun opening presents and discovering new toys, books and clothes.  Then we had cupcakes and ice cream.  Logan wanted a Power Rangers party and Ashten wanted Tinkerbell, so I made 12 of each kind of cupcake.  Logan decided to wear his new bike helmet to eat his cupcakes - silly guy!

On Ashten's actual birthday, Chris and I took her to lunch at McDonalds so she could play on the playground.  Then, after school, she got to open her presents and then we had brownies and ice cream.  The boys were so good to really dote on her and make her feel special on her birthday, they are so sweet to her!  After soccer practices, she chose to go to Cici's Pizza for dinner.  What a fun day to celebrated a fun girl.  I think her favorite gifts were probably her new microphone and her new phone.  The girl likes to talk!!

Logan had his friend party during Spring Break.  It was a swimming party at our rec center and I think all the kids had a lot of fun.  I know our kids were super tired after a long day in the pool.  And the best part for me was that all of the cake smooshed into the floor and all of the torn wrapping paper was not my mess to deal with - we just picked up the big stuff and the rest was taken care of!  I liked that part a lot!

Logan's actual birthday was on Easter this year.  We woke up and he got to open his presents before church.  He got a new guitar, Guitar Hero for the Wii and a Power Rangers lego set he's been begging for.  After we all got ready, we went to church for a pancake breakfast and service.  After church, we went to Asia Cafe, because his favorite is orange chicken!  (I like the idea of going out to eat on Easter.  Sure, it's unconventional, but it was so nice to not have to stress about making a nice dinner and just spending that time as a family.)  Later in the afternoon we had cake and he got to blow out his candles (for a third time!!), but it still took him 4 tries!  He wanted a yellow Power Ranger cake.  I think the one I made looks pretty ghetto, but he really liked it, so that's all that matters.

Phew!  March is a busy, busy month of celebrating, but it's mostly a fun time, so I'll take it!
