Spring Break woo-hoo!! (Name that quote!)
We had a great spring break, just spending time doing low-key stuff as a family. I would describe it as relaxing-ly busy. Or busily relaxing. You pick!
We didn't plan a bunch of stuff ahead of time, we just kind of went with the flow every day. We were busy, but most of the stuff we did was fun and it was at our own pace and it wasn't rushed. It was really great.
I took a lot of time off of cooking, mostly because Chris is so great and he encouraged me to not stress about meals. Most of the time we just ate easy stuff or leftovers at home, but a couple of times we went out to Cici's or something easy/cheap like that. I also took the week off of my cleaning schedule. Yes, my house was really dirty and gross, but it was just one less thing I had to do so I could focus on my family and relaxing (notice a theme here?). Hmmmm...whose spring break was this anyway?
As a family we went bowling, we went to the zoo, we went swimming, we watched movies, played the Wii, went to the mall, ate out, relaxed and just enjoyed each other's company. It was so much fun to reconnect since we have been so busy with school and sports and church lately.
But sadly, all good things must end and that includes Spring Break. So on Tuesday of the following week, Chris left for work early again and I had to take the boys back to school. We were barely out of the parking lot after dropping the boys off and Ashten said, "I miss my brothers sometimes when they are at school!". Sweet girl, I do too!
