I love, love, love that each kid has shown some kind of interest in music. Both Chris and I growing up were involved in music in different forms. Chris took piano lessons for a couple of years and played trumpet in the band for a few years. I took piano lessons for a couple of years, sang at church and in choir at school and played the flute in band for a few years.
We both felt music was important for more than just developing those specific skills, so we were eager to start piano lessons when the boys got old enough. Right now Brayden and Logan are taking piano lessons and Preston will start next fall. Brayden is also playing the viola in orchestra at school this year (orchestra starts in 5th grade). Logan has expressed interest in learning the guitar, so we are looking into finding a place for guitar lessons. Preston likes to play Chris' old trumpet, and seems to be interested in the piano. Ashten loves to sing and play the piano and even blow the trumpet a little. I am so proud of the kids for the hard work they are putting in to learning an instrument. We will have our own little band one day!
